Most of my followers know my story…typical story of over working myself to a place of serious illness, finding my way back and teaching others…my journey also included inventing a sound and light chamber to help the body regenerate and fix itself. Pretty cool stuff!
Sticking to the topic of hair loss for this post. I worked in automotive in Michigan (yes, the environment you live in can contribute to metals in the body), was around lots of metals, I took up shooting for sport, I didn’t eat a clean diet (metals are in many foods, medicine capsules, and supplements) and I had the silver / amalgam fillings in my 8 of my teeth.
Heavy metals can get in your body in many ways. Did you know that having the amalgam / mercury fillings cause the body to off-gas the toxins (lead, nickel, mercury, etc) every time you eat? Over the years that builds up and as we age, and the body doesn’t detox as great as it did when we were younger, heavy metals become an issue.
I am copying (below) the text from an article I wrote over 10 years ago about Lead Poisoning to give more places you can get absorb metals in the body. I wrote this when I discovered all the illnesses related to heavy metals and I was seeing clients that came out the session smelling like metal. I could even hear their voices change when they started detoxing metals. It made me start researching heavily on metals and how they contribute to disease.
When I started my journey back in the 90s, I was just beginning to feel bad in my 20s. I started with changing my diet because that is the first thing I learned. Then I started supplementing and learned that you can take WAY too many supplements and hurt the body. When I started having major hair loss, I was scared and went to several doctors. Doctors didn’t have any idea why, but they usually jumped to thyroid problems ask the cause and put me on thyroid meds. The meds were way too strong for my body and just gave me headaches. I took a smaller dose, but then discovered a D.O. (Osteopathic medicine doctor) and he helped me navigate the many types of heavy metal tests. The consensus was that a urine challenge was most accurate for determining metals in the body. The researcher that I am, I did a hair test and urine test on the same day and the results were both very different. I talked to a few other doctors and I felt that the urine challenge (I did 6 hours of collecting urine for my challenge with the Doctors’ Data test) was the most accurate. I could go on for hours because that test still has its flaws on the amount of metals the test covers. Cobalt and Chromium were not tested in their test when I took it, and a client needed a test for those metals after having a metal hip replacement years back. He was exhibiting Parkinson’s symptoms, which can also be the same symptoms of high Cobalt in the body. That’s another hour long story.
The solution that served me best and all my hair grew back with a vengeance was NDF (not the Plus), but the regular NDF drops from Bioray.com (see our partner link here). Literally, just 2 weeks on these drops brought my metals down to normal ranges. I as off the charts in Lead, Thallium, Cadmium, to name a few. Their Belly Mend product is also very good and powerful. I can only take 3 drops total of it on a daily basis or I get a belly ache.
We are exposed to metals in many ways in our environment so I do a regimen of the NDF drops every quarter of the year (4 times a year for 2 weeks). Recently, I did something stupid, but I learned from it. I had a hankering for a Marie Calendar’s Pot Pie…turkey is my favorite. I had one, then ended up buying them for a few months and eating them regularly. I noticed my hair was falling out in gobs (yes gobs can be used here) and I knew somehow I was being exposed to heavy metals, but I did not put the pieces of the pie (pun intended) together very quickly. I did the 2 weeks of drops and my hair was still falling out. I did the drops for 2 months and stopped having a hankering for the Pot Pies and my hair stopped falling out. I did have an intuitive hit it was the Pot Pies that created the issue and I did have one more and could taste the metallic flavor. So, that is my story and I am sticking to it. There are other reasons for hair loss such as liver and thyroid issues, parasites, vitamin deficiency, hormones, but I am sticking to the topic of heavy metals for this article because I believe it’s the root cause of some of the other reasons.
Caution: start slow on the drops. They are very strong and no one body is the same. Start with 1 drop, yes a drop (not a dropper full). See how that does for 3 days and then increase to 3 drops and work your way up to the maximum dose on the bottle.
I can also recommend some music we have available on our website. We have a piece called Heavy Metal Detox (it’s on the wellness tracks – yellow USB). We have clients who have reported tasting metals in the mouth after listening to it. We have many reasons the piece was designed with the instruments, tones, intention and associated colors to help detox heavy metals.
Hope this help!

LEAD POISONING (ENVIRONMENTAL TRAUMA)?!
Who is at highest risk of lead poisoning?
Lead poisoning can occur at any age.
Lead poisoning can include people who:
- Drink water that flows through pipes that were soldered with lead.
- Work with lead either in their job or as a hobby (for example, marksmen or women (ammunition), police officers, metal smelters, welders, pottery makers, and stained glass and other metal artists).
- Live in or regularly visit homes or buildings built before 1978. These buildings may have lead-based paint. The risk is even higher in buildings built before 1950, when lead-based paint was more commonly used.
- Eat food from cans made with lead solder. These types of cans aren’t made in the United States.
- Cook or store food in ceramic containers. Some ceramic glaze contains lead that may not have been properly fired or cured.
- Eat or breathe traditional or folk remedies that contain lead, such as some herbs and vitamins from other countries.
- Live in communities with a lot of industrial pollution.
- Immigrants, refugees, or adoptees from other countries. They may have been exposed to higher lead levels in these countries.
- Children 6 years old or younger. Young children are at higher risk because:
- They often put their hands and objects in their mouths.
- They sometimes swallow nonfood items.
- Their bodies absorb lead at a higher rate.
- Their brains are developing quickly.
What are the symptoms? To name a few…
You may not notice any symptoms at first. The effects are easy to miss and may seem related to other conditions.
In adults, lead poisoning can cause:
- Changes in behavior, mood, personality, irritability and sleep patterns.
- Memory Loss and trouble thinking clearly.
- Loss of appetite, weight loss.
- Weakness and muscle problems.
- Headaches and abdominal pain.
- High Blood Pressure.
- Reduced sperm count in men and Miscarriage or premature birth in pregnant women.
- Severe cases can cause seizures and paralysis.
In children, symptoms can include:
- Slightly lower intelligence and smaller size compared to children of the same age.
- Behavior problems, such as acting angry, moody, or hyperactive.
- Learning problems.
- Lack of energy, and not feeling hungry.

WHAT TO DO? Detox the body and get the lead out (pun intended).
